The “Ode to Joy” (the Anthem of Europe) announced the start of the music-information event was held under the title “Danube of the Generations”, held in the conference hall of the Art Gallery – Silistra, on May 31 2019. Parallel-Silistra NGO, in partnership with the young artists from the Center for Music and Arts “Megaton” and the dancers from “El Force”, presented models for preservation and valorisation of the European cultural and historical heritage in the Danube region. The three panels of the successful projects were grouped under the main topics: Danube on the Move, Green Danube and Danube is Culture.
The event “Danube of the Generations” is funded under the project “MEMOFISH. Memory and Future. Stories of the Danube Civilization “and aims to encourage participants to share their recommendations to the regional authorities for better management of this wealth. In this connection, the guests of the event filled in polls, which will be summarized by the organizers and presented to Silistrats on the eve of Nikulden. Two more similar events will be held by the end of the 2019 so as to cover a total of 150 people from the Bulgarian-Romanian Danube Region. The collected and analyzed proposals will be published and presented to the relevant institutions in Bulgaria and Romania in October-November 2019.
The successful 9 models that were discussed during the “Danube of Generations” event are a small part of the projects implemented in the Danube Region. All of them are described in detail in the policy document “CULTURE MATTERS!”. The latter presents the European policy for preserving and promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the Danube region (2010-2020) – a territory that is one fifth of the EU and where they live more than 100 million people.
