2The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) Forum for intercultural dialogue takes place every two years and brings together representatives of all 40 countries in the Mediterranean region. This  Summit is considered the biggest event of its kind and is expected with great enthusiasm by the civil society. This powerful manifestation of the Mediterranean peaceful  living connects international donors, institutions, NGOs and media that have the ambition to jointly contribute for real and lasting changes to the most pressing regional problems.

In 2016 the forum was held from 23 to 25 October in Valletta, the capital of Malta. Our representative Diana Bebenova-Nikolova took part in it together with other NGO activitists from the national ALF network of the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The event discussions explored important hot topics such as intercultural cities, creative enterprises, youth participation, media dialogue. In this regard, the Executive Director of ALF highlighted that the 2017 initiatives of the Foundation will be on strengthening the contacts between citizens in the Mediterranean region and implementing the UN Resolution on the role of youth for peace-building and counter violence and extremism.

As a participant in the Forum, Diana Bebenova-Nikolova set up new contacts and international partnerships with organizations from the Mediterranean region. Thus, in 2017one of our main organizational tasks will be to promote critical thinking of young people to counteract the manipulation and the language of hatred between different ethnic groups and nationalities.
