Time for Tea /T4T/ is an international campaign to promote youth messages. The initiator is the British organization Momentum World http://www.momentumworld.org/time-for-tea/.

Our NGO Parallel-Silistra became part of the campaign in August, when our representative Diana Bebenova took part in the training organized by Momentum in London, funded under the Erasmus + program.

Time for Tea was launched in Silistra in November. Young people from different schools in the region suggested hot topics that matter for them. They met on November 29th under the framework of the fifth edition of the annual discussion forum “Dialogue with young people – a pledge for change”.

More than 60 young people aged 15-29 took part in the event. They were representatives of school and students’ councils and informal youth organizations. In 8 working groups, the participants discussed issues concerning their career development, civic activity and initiative, youth entrepreneurship and other matters that excite them. At the end of the discussions, they came up with a brief message on the issue that is important and relevant to the youth community. Then they decided who should hear their message and designed original and creative “tea gifts”.

In December, each group will use creative way to deliver the gift to the chosen leader with the message to drink tea and talk together. The T4T participants will visit the District Governor, Silistra Mayor and the Chairman of the Municipal Council as well as the Deputy Mayor “Humanitarian activities” to hand over the gifts.
