Two hundred and seventy-five young people from four countries took part in twenty events united by the theme “16 Days of Activism”. This international youth campaign was held in Bulgaria, Spain, Italy and Portugal as part of the “BeActive” project, financed under the Erasmus+ program through the Human Resources Development Centre, Bulgaria. The campaign was conceived as a series of events dedicated to current local topics: environmental protection, EU democracy, European values, healthy lifestyle, etc., which attracted 275 direct and more than 500 online participants.
These successful results were reported by the project partners during their last working meeting on February 26-29, 2024. in Lisbon, Portugal. Thanks to the Erasmus+ program, the partner organizations “Paralel-Silistra” , Bulgaria; “Creative”, Spain; the European Institute “For Citizens”, Portugal; and the Association “Bosco Angimbe”, Italy could enjoy for the first time an international partnership and networking and improved their capacity.
As the manager Dr. Diana Bebenova-Nikolova points out: “The BeActive project has successfully met the needs of disadvantaged youth through specialized training, environmental initiatives and inclusive approaches to involve them in community life.”
The partners of the BeActive project, financed under the Erasmus+ program, created and published a set of innovative tools in Bulgarian and English. These materials are intended for youth trainers and workers who want to use effective and interactive educational initiatives to activate young people. The publications are freely available on the project website https://paralel-silistra.net/active/publications/.
