From January 13 to 15, 2023, we, all the Partners from the BeActive project, https://paralel-silistra.net/active/?lang=bg financed by the Erasmus+ program took part in the first international exchange of good practices. The meeting took place in the city of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain.
Dr. Diana Bebenova-Nikolova and Lidiya Svetoslavova participated in the training as representatives of the Leader “Parallel-Silistra” https://paralel-silistra.net . The event was organized with the courtesy of the Creativa Association https://asociacioncreativa.org Spain. The other two partners, the European Institute “For Citizens” https://forcitizens.org, Portugal, and the “Bosco Angimbe” Association, Italy also got actively involved in the training. https://boscoangimbe.wixsite.com/boscoangimbe, Italy, also partners in the project.
The purpose of the event was the participants to share their practical experience in the thematic areas of the project. Each of the partners presented two good practices for conducting youth non-formal trainings. We discussed topics such as: green skills trainings, presented by the Italian partner, digital skills trainings – the partner from Spain, cultural diversity and EU values – NGO “Parallel-Silistra” and active European citizenship – the partner from Portugal.
The participants also drafted the content of the collection of educational materials BeActive. The new tool will also include some of the exciting stories on the links between biodiversity and sustainable development by Stefano Mancuso, Professor of Botany at the University of Florence, .
As a result of the shared practical experience, the partners developed a program for the upcoming youth training in April 2023 in Sicily, which aims to gather young activists to launch the 16 Days of Activism campaign at local level.
We aim to encourage 200 young people to work with local authorities and get involved in solving problems at the local level, like: forms of discrimination, irresponsible use of nature and exclusion of young people. The campaign participants will develop digital narratives of their actions and will publish them on the web platform https://paralel-silistra.net/active/wiki/.
