Our NGO ‘Parallel-Silistra’ has started the implementation of a new project BeActive, financed by the Erasmus+ program. Together with Association ‘Creativa’, Spain; European Institute for Active Citizenship ‘For citizens’, Portugal and Association ‘Bosco Angimbe’, Italy, we will be implementing the planned activities for 18 months until March 2024.

In general, the project targets young people with fewer opportunities from remote, rural areas or facing social isolation. The partner organizations aim to contact and encourage them to work with local authorities and get involved in solving problems. These issues might include forms of discrimination, violation of human rights, irresponsible use of nature and exclusion of young people.

Furthermore, BeActive aims to network, share and integrate cross-sectoral practices to produce educational tool on building youth competencies for policy participation and youth activism.

Due to the project four civil society organizations will work in partnership to increase the competencies of 8 youth workers and 16 volunteers. The youth will reach and motivate 60 other young people. They will initiate local events and involve 400 participants in the 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM campaign. Participants will post their 8 digital stories, demonstrating responsibility towards nature and society and active civic behavior.

The BeActive project is supported by Erasmus+ program, via the Human Resources Development Agency, Bulgaria, Project Number: 2022-1-BG01-KA210-YOU-000083772
