The Regional Department of Education – Silistra and the NGO “Parallel–Silistra” successfully held the ninth edition of Innovation Camp – Silistra 2025, which took place on October 8–9, 2025, at the Silistra Branch of Ruse University “Angel Kanchev.” The event, dedicated to the theme “Green Entrepreneurship with a Civic Focus,” aimed to encourage young people’s active participation in the sustainable development of their local communities.
A total of 24 students from six schools in the region took part, preparing and presenting their innovative business ideas inspired by the principles of circular economy, environmental responsibility, and social engagement. The teams were supported by student mentors from Ruse University, who shared their experience and inspired the participants.
After a competitive challenge, the jury announced the following results:
🏆 1st place – Vasil Levski Secondary School (Glavinitsa) with the project AgroFeed Dish – “Food for you, feed for them, milk for everyone.”
🥈 2nd place – Vocational School of Agriculture (Sitovo) with the project ReMade Studio – “Give waste a second life – create something beautiful!”
🥉 3rd place – Vocational School of Clothing and Technology (Dulovo) with the project “Tropical Breeze.”
The Community Impact Award and recognition from the Regional Information Centre went to:
• Hristo Botev Secondary School (Tutrakan) for the project “Treasure of the Danube – the Cycle of Sustainability.”
Awards for Strong Civic Engagement and Creativity were given to:
• Yordan Yovkov Secondary School (Tutrakan) – “Eco Circle: A Second Life for Things.”
• Penyo Penev Vocational School of Construction (Silistra) – “Digital Twin for a Smart City.”
The Innovation Camp was implemented with financial and organizational support from NGO “Parallel–Silistra”under the project “Youth for Democracy: Act4Climate,” carried out through the Erasmus+ Programme via the Human Resource Development Centre, Bulgaria. The project is coordinated by Dr. Diana Bebenova-Nikolova.
The organizers expressed sincere gratitude to Ruse University – Silistra Branch for its excellent hosting and cooperation, as well as to the teachers, students, and local partners for their support in realizing the initiative.

The organizers also extended appreciation to the municipalities of Dulovo, Glavinitsa, and Sitovo for their support and prizes for local teams.
Once again, the Innovation Camp proved that the youth of Silistra think green, act responsibly, and believe that change begins with them.
