The quality of non-formal education (NFE) is an issue that is increasingly on the agenda because it is an increasingly preferred and applied form of acquiring new knowledge and skills for people of all ages. Therefore, the Association “Parallel Silistra” has recently published new materials that support the process through tools for assessment and self-assessment of trainers’ competencies.
The first material, sourced from the European SALTO platform of free non-formal learning resources, is a video that clarifies the competency model. It’s not just a theoretical concept, but a practical tool that facilitates the analysis of your accumulated experience and the need for new knowledge. This video sees the model as a synergy between attitudes, skills, knowledge, and behaviour set in a specific context, and it encourages you to develop your professional skills through innovation.
The second material is adapted from the “Parallel Silistra” version of a complex tool for self-assessment and assessment of trainers’ professional skills in seven spheres of competence. The association implemented the “We Can Do It!” document during the international leadership training for young women in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, at the end of April.
New publications on the organisation’s website complement the available resources to help educators of young people: training scenarios with instructions for educators, a detailed day-by-day program for international education in Vilnius, tasks with explanations for the educational game “Culture detectives”, question cards, self-study reading for Empowering Women for Social Change training, etc.
All materials are available completely free of charge on the website of the “Perspectives” project https://paralel-silistra.net/view/?lang=bg, a collaborative effort that unites organizations from Bulgaria, Lithuania, Cyprus and Spain (Canary Islands) with a leading partner Association ” Parallel Silistra” and coordinator Dr. Diana Bebenova-Nikolova. This project, supported by the Erasmus+ program, works to activate women’s civic positions, protect their rights and participate in social life. By accessing these resources, you’re not just benefiting yourself, but also becoming part of a supportive community.
