What more significant challenge than organizing a three-day training in July when the temperatures outside are above 35 degrees? And on the topic of “Development and implementation of European youth projects” under the “Virago Academy” program.

NGO “Parallel-Silistra” in partnership with NGO “Association for the development of tourism in the region of Tutrakan” and Community Center “Vaptsarov-1873” successfully coped with exactly such a challenge. Together, from July 14 to 16, 2022, the partners organized not only training but also set up a “survival game” to challenge participants’ creativity and teamwork. We sailed to the island of Pozharevo, a protected area in the Danube river, close to Tutrakan. In hot summers,  parts come to the surface at low river waters, and the local marshes almost dry up. A desert-like, the island offers a non-traditional terrain for using game methods to develop creativity, speed and teamwork. Participants tested their endurance and fighting spirit. They all demonstrated leadership qualities and ambitions, making them courageous VIRAGO women. On the third day, the organizers encouraged the girls to write an application form with a draft proposal. After the training, young women – VIRAGO can successfully analyze problems, find solutions, develop them into projects and apply for funding. Congratulations on your success!

The training is part of the international project VIRAGO, financed by the ERASMUS+ program, in which organizations and institutions from Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Turkey participate.
